Shriya signs Tamil-Kannada bilingual Chandra

After staying out of job for a while, Tollywood actress Shriya Sharan has finally gotthe lead heroins role in Roopa Iyers next venture Chandra. The Tamil-Kannada romantic flick starsPrem Kumar in the main role, opposite Shriya. Confirming the news, Roopa said, Shriya has given hernod to don the female lead in Chandra and the story revolves around the love story of the princessbefore Independence. Prem Kumar will play Shriyas love interest in this love story that is being filmedbased on the real story taken from the lives of princesses after India became republic. Spokesperson ofthe actress also endorsed the news, saying Yes, Shriya has signed the film. She got many offers earlierbut couldnt accept due to date issues. This will be the actress first Kannada film as the lead heroine.Earlier she had made a guest appearance in Arasu. According to reports, Shriya is not the first choicefor the role and the director has approached Ramya, Amrita Rao and Aindrita Ray before signing her.However, the filmmaker has full confidence in his final choice and he says, It is very common in tinseltown, it is up to director, on whom she selects as heroine.
