Spider- Man: No Way Home review - The Tom Holland starrer is a love letter to the Spider-Man franchise

The third entry of the MCU 's new Spider-Man trilogy, Spider-Man: No Way Home is the first movie set in the fourth phase and is the third one directed by Jon Watts. While the previous two entries were entertaining they were both tied down by the MCU as a whole and were never able to completely stand on their own feet

now, this is not the fault of the filmmakers but when you are a part of a billion-dollar franchise consisting of different films and shows which are all interconnected, compromises must be made and in some form of karmic justice. The patience of the makers was rewarded as they were able to make what I can only call a love letter to spidey and his fans with Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The movie is set immediately after the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home and starts off with an exciting chase scene involving Spider-Man and MJ as they are chased across the city. From there the movie always pushes the action to the edge and only slows down for the jokes, a lot of which you may have seen in the trailers and promos, but the movie thankfully did not sacrifice its funniest lines for Marvel 's marketing machine.

The second thing the movie slows down for is the well-written and emotionally balanced character interaction. There are some really touching and heartfelt moments between the characters, and none of them feel forced or tacked on. I am sure most of these will have long-term consequences both for the next Spider-Man movie and the MCU as a whole.

Now, I know that is the last statement can be used for any movie in the MCU but this may be the first time in a while that the makers have interesting world-building as well create a well-balanced movie that is not just build-up for the next movie or property.

The chemistry between this cast has always been exceptional since the first movie and that continues to be the same in No Way Home. Tom Holland destroys any doubt in my mind that he is was born to carry on the mantle of Spider-Man. He is given several opportunities to show his acting skills and excels in them all.

Spider-Man taking on multiple villains is something that Sam Rami tried and failed to pull off in the original Spider-Man 3. Thankfully Jon Watts seems to have learned from his predecessor's mistakes and uses his villains not just for some awesome fights but also to give each of them balance and treat them as characters rather than punching bags.

So if you are a fan of Spider-Man you don't need me to tell you to go watch this movie, but if you are on the bench and worried you will be let down, don't be, Spider-Man: No Way Home is worth it.
