Ekta Kapoor on Naagin 6 star Tejasswi Prakash: “There's something about her eyes and I just had to cast her”

Even before Tejasswi Prakash was announced as the winner of Bigg Boss season 15 by host Salman Khan , the actress bagged the lead role in Ekta Kapoor’s Naagin 6. During the Grand Finale, her first look was unveiled and she was introduced to the audience as Sarvashreshtha Shesh Naagin. While her fans were over the moon with joy, many trolls unnecessarily connected her win to the upcoming show. They accused makers of making Tejasswi the winner of BB15 only because she was going to be the lead star of Naagin 6, which is one of the most popular series on the channel. Well, Ekta has now broken her silence on these rumors.

In a chat with ETimes, Ekta explained that she wanted someone ‘very vivacious but innocent’. She shared that she saw Tejasswi in BB15 and spoke to her manager about signing her for Naagin 6. The manager assured the team that the actress will be onboard for the supernatural thriller series. The producer was quoted saying, “Before the show, I had seen her. I had liked her so much though I don't see too much of Bigg Boss but a lot of my friends do. Also, there's clippings of Bigg Boss all over the Instagram and you end up watching it. I feel she is a very attractive young girl. There's something about her eyes and I just had to cast her.”

Ekta Kapoor says she knew Naagin 6 plot would get trolled: "Still remember everyone's face when I read it..." 

Ekta went on to share, “Honestly, I've never met her except this show and when I gave her a narration now, I knew she would win when she got my evil eye, it went from Raqesh to Karan to her. I knew she would win. I felt there was some kind of luck that went to her. More than that I've done nothing. I don't think I've the power to tell a channel that I want this girl as my next Naagin.” The producer found Tejasswi pretty and felt connected to her when she saw her. But she feels bad that the actress has to constantly defend herself.

Just like all the other seasons, Naagin 6 will also feature two shape-shifting snakes. While Tejasswi bagged one character, the other role went to actress Mahekk Chahal. Simba Nagpal, who was also a part of BB15, will be seen as the male lead in the show. Naagin 6 is all set to premiere on television on 12thFebruary.
