Batgirl new set photos reveal a surprise cameo from another DC superhero

The new Batgirl movie is currently being filmed in Scotland and there is a steady supply of images from the set which includes a look at Leslie Grace in her superhero outfit as well as a mural of Robin.

Now the latest pictures reveal a cameo by DC character Black Canary. the character portrayed by Jurnee Smollett-Bell last appeared in the 2020 DCEU movie Birds of Prey alongside Margot Robbie .

While we do not know if this is just a cameo or a more meaty role that Black Canary will have in The Batgirl, we do know that J.K Simmons will be reprising his role as James Gordon.

Michael Keaton will be returning to the role of Batman and will act as a mentor to the young Batgirl. Keaton who portrayed Batman in the Tim Burton movies will also appear in the upcoming DC movie The Flash .

Actor Brendan Fraser will be playing the role of Firefly a sociopathic pyromaniac and will serve as the Villain of the movie, this will be the second DC character portrayed by the actor as he also plays the role of Robotman in the Tv-series Doom Patrol.

The movie is directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah and is set to stream on HBO Max sometime in 2022
