    The current season of Bigg Boss OTT 2 has begun with a huge fanfare and actress-director Pooja Bhatt is one of the contestants. She is making her presence felt on the show right from day 1 owing to a strong demeanor. The actress has also been opening up about her personal life ranging from her struggle with alcohol and her divorce from her ex-husband Manish Makhija.

    In a conversation with co-contestant Bebika Dhurve, Pooja Bhatt revealed what made her quit alcohol. It was not a hidden fact that the actress struggled as an alcoholic but began her successful journey to sobriety in December 2016. On the show, Pooja was heard saying in the latest episode that the feeling of her father Mahesh Bhatt no longer being by her side made her take up the initiative to quit alcohol and make herself a better person.

    Pooja recalled an incident when she was leaving her father’s house and the latter asked her a triggering question. Mahesh Bhatt had asked her, “What if this is the last time that you are seeing me?” which sparked loads of questions in her mind. Pooja Bhatt further added that her father’s bypass operation also made her self-aware and instilled the zeal inside her to not be an emotionally crumbled human being if her father leaves her. The Sadak actress furthermore recalled that he father had left her an emotional text message which said, “I reside in your heart.”

    Pooja Bhatt then revealed that it was all of these incidents which made her realize that she has to work toward being a more responsible person and quit alcohol. In a recent interview, Mahesh Bhatt also reacted to his daughter’s participation in Bigg Boss OTT 2. Talking to Etimes, he said, “Life's greatest adventures begin when we step into the realm of the unknown with courage and curiosity. She has done just that. I admire her audacity.” On the work front, Pooja was last seen on the Netflix series, Bombay Begums.
