Bigg Boss OTT 2: Ranveer Singh is too busy with films; has not replaced Karan Johar as host

Rumors suggested that actor Ranveer Singh, who turned host last year with The Big Picture, will replace filmmaker Karan Johar in the second season of Bigg Boss OTT. However, sources have now revealed the truth.

Last year, two months before the 15th and much awaited season of Salman Khan ’s controversial reality show Bigg Boss premiered on television, we were introduced to a prelude series called Bigg Boss OTT. It took the digital route and was hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar . While Divya Agarwal bagged the trophy and title, actress Shamita Shetty and runner ups Pratik Sehajpal and Nishant Bhat got the chance to compete in season 15. Well, the spin off has been renewed for a second season, but reports suggested that Ranveer Singh might replace KJo as host.

Buzz stated that the actor, who made his debut as TV show host last year with The Big Picture, will turn host for Bigg Boss OTT season 2 because makers could not get dates from Karan. However, a report shared by ETimes has now clarified that these are just rumors. A source revealed, “This is absolutely untrue. It’s not fact-checked and nothing is brewing in this regard. Ranveer is currently too busy with his film commitments and he is set to start working on exciting tentpole films that will be announced in due course of time.”

Well, Ranveer does have many exciting projects in the pipeline at the moment, which are keeping him busy around the clock. After winning hearts with Jayeshbhai Jordaar, he is now gearing up for his next release titled Cirkus. The comedy marks his reunion with Simmba director Rohit Shetty and is Ranveer’s first ever double role film. Other than Cirkus, the actor also has KJo’s family dramedy Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani opposite Alia Bhatt .

Earlier reports also suggested that actress Hina Khan or choreographer and filmmaker Farah Khan may fill KJo’s shoes to host Bigg Boss OTT’s second season. However, no confirmation has been shared by makers yet.
