LOTR: The Rings of Power first look images are here and they are stunning

The Lord of the Rings spinoff series The Rings of Power which is set thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings is cited to be the most expensive show ever produced with a budget of over one billion dollars.

The show will focus on the Dark Lord Sauron and his rise to power and set in the second age when Sauron forged the rings of power as gifts for the Elves, Dwarfs, and Humans but in truth wanted to dominate and rule them by forging The One Ring in secret

The Rings of Power will also show the mythical isle of Númenor said to be the greatest civilization of men and its eventual destruction.

The images look stunning we see a look at a beautiful female dwarf covered in gold, as well as a young Galadriel played by Morfydd Clark in full battle armor, as well as a young Elrond.

We also get to see a few BTS pictures from the set of the show, J. D. Payne and Patrick McKay will be serving as the showrunners.

You can check out the images below

Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared reemergence of evil to Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the farthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.

While the new images give us a good look at the world and some of the characters one particular is missing from the set, The Dark Lord Sauron, it is understandable that the studio would want to keep his appearance under wraps.

The new images show a lot of promise for The Rings of Power and it is clear that the show has high production value and attention to detail and the studio has promised that the show will remain loyal to the source material created by J. R. R. Tolkien.

The show already has a second season in production and Amazon Studios have already greenlit five more seasons, so are you excited to return to the world of Middle Earth?

Rings of Power will stream on Amazon Prime on September 2, 2022
