    Oscar Isaac who, will be playing the role of Marc Spector, a man suffering from dissociative identity disorder, said in an interview with USA Today that the show has a serious take on mental health

    The upcoming Marvel show will mark the debut of Oscar Isaac into the MCU. In the show, he will be playing the role of mild-mannered Steven Grant who works in a gift shop, Grant suffers from insomnia and gaps in his memories and soon starts having memories of another life and his true identity of Marc Spector a mercenary for hire with a dissociative identity disorder.

    The actor in a recent interview with USA Today said that the show will deal with mental illness seriously and his character's affliction was not treated as a character trait and both Isaac and Marvel president Kevin Fiege have said that the show will focus on how Spector deals with his dissociative identity disorder.

    The Moon Knight will also introduce the ancient Egyptian gods into the MCU. Mainly the moon god Khonshu who grants Marc Spector the powers of the Moon Knight and makes him his champion, the Moon Knight has superior strength and speed and his powers are affected by the lunar cycle.

    Ethan Hawke will be playing the role of Arthur Harrow a cult leader who knows odMarck Spector's powers and tries to corrupt him. He is a servant of the ancient Egyptian goddess Ammit who seeks to cleanse the world and see's the Moon Knight as an obstacle.

    In the Interview, Oscar Issac has this to say about the portrayal of mental illness on the show -

    "It's a real, legitimate character study. Our job was to put a lens on the things that had the most dramatic juice and ultimately take the mental health aspect very seriously."

    Jeremy Slater who is known for his work on movies like Fantastic Four , Death Note as well as Netflix 's superhero show The Umbrella Academy will be serving as the showrunner for Moon Knight.

    The rest of the cast includes May Calamawy, Gaspard Ulliel, Lucy Thackeray , and F. Murray Abraham will voice the Egyptian moon god Khonshu, Moon Knight consists of six episodes.

    The show will stream on Disney + on March 30, 2022.
