Karan Johar confirms there will be no Koffee With Karan season 7 says, 'I'd like to think we've made an impact '

Karan Johar has issued a statement clarifying that he’s not returning to host a new season of Koffee With Karan as several reports have claimed lately. The filmmaker who has hosted six season of the popular chat show has said that while the show has made an impact on popular culture, there will be no new season.

Reports claiming the return of Koffee With Karan has sent ripples of excitement amidst Bollywood fans. It was also speculated that Alia Bhatt , Ranbir Kapoor will make their first appearance on the show as a married couple.

Karan’s clarification backs reports from last year which had announced that season 6 of Koffee With Karan was its last. The season ran into several controversies especially with the episode featuring cricketers KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya which had to be revoked by the channel.

In his statement on Wednesday, Karan said, “ Hello , Koffee with Karan has been a part of my life, and yours, for 6 seasons now. I'd like to think we've made an impact and even found our place in pop culture history. And so, it is with a heavy heart that I announce that Koffee with Karan will not be returning...”

Over the years, Karan Johar has hosted several Bollywood celebrities on his Koffee Couch where a lot of juicy gossip has been exchanged and several interesting revelations made by our favorite stars.

The show has also led to many infamous controversies including the nepotism debate, Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul’s suspension from the Indian cricket team due to their remarks on the show, Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor’s digs on Ranbir Kapoor leaving the actor’s family furious to many more.

On the work front, Karan Johar who was recently seen judging the TV show Hunarbaaz, is now busy with his next directorial Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani which stars Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh in the lead.
