Tunisha Sharma death: Accused Sheezan Khan's bail adjourned, his lawyer calls it a 'deliberate delay' by late actress' family

20-year-old actress Tunisha Sharma ’s suicide is currently in the middle of a heated investigation and the prime accused Sheezan Khan ’s bail hearing was held today (January 7). For the unversed, Sheezan who was Tunisha’s Ali Baba: Daastan-E-Kabul co-star and ex-boyfriend was arrested for alleged abetment to suicide after a complaint was filed by her mother. The actor’s family consisting of mother Kehkashan Faizi and sisters Falaq Naaz and Shafaq Naaz were present at the Vasai court today.

However, according to a news report by India Today, Sheezan’s bail hearing has been adjourned till Monday (January 9). After hearing the arguments by the lawyers from both sides, the court gave this another date for the hearing. Talking about the proceedings, Tunisha’s family’s lawyer was opposing Sheezan’s bail plea. The police officials investigating the case told the court that the actress’ family is busy with her post-death rituals because of which their statement couldn’t be recorded. The officials further added that they need more time till January 13 to file their statements.

However, Sheezan Khan’s lawyer called this a deliberate attempt to delay the proceedings indirectly taking a dig at Tunisha Sharma’s family. The lawyer was quoted, “There is a deliberate delay. Sheezan was in police custody for the first seven days and is now in judicial custody. In this case, the investigating officer (Waliv Police) had not filed their side.” The police officials have reportedly been asked to file the statement of the deceased actress’ family on January 9.

Earlier Sheezan’s lawyer had requested adequate security and counseling for his client since a prisoner has already committed suicide in the Taloja case and this allegation against Khan is reportedly affecting him mentally. The actor also requested his hair not be cut during his jail time. Both requests have been approved by the court.
