Ever since the time filmmaker Hansal Mehta announced his next series Gandhi, it has been making news and how! Be it the cast or the story plot or even the photographs which were shared on social media by Hansal Mehta, everything about the series seems to be pure gold.
Adding more ‘gold’ to his treasure called ‘Gandhi’ was the series’ director Hansal Mehta, who took to social media and shared a bunch of photographs. These photographs were truly special in more ways than one. Firstly, the said photographs were monochromatic, which gave the much-required feel of nostalgia, which is a given for the series.
Secondly, director Hansal Mehta has the photographs clicked with Pratik Gandhi, who also happens to be the hero of the series ‘Gandhi’. After posting the photographs on social media, Hansal Mehta captioned the same as, ‘On location. #Gandhi. From the iPhone of @khamkhaphotoartist wearing a @pratham94 gift with the gift himself @pratikgandhiofficial’. One may note that, Hansal Mehta calls Pratik Gandhi a ‘gift’!
No sooner did he post this; the comments section were filled with compliments galore from fans and followers from all over. While one netizen wrote, ‘One person is superb but when they both are together, they are complete for act, entertainment and artwork’, there was another who wrote, ‘@pratikgandhiofficial Just look at you Perfect ‘Gandhi’ !!!!! my heart is smiling’. Another netizen wrote, ‘Gandhi ki andhi.

As for the casting, the series ‘Gandhi’ stars Pratik Gandhi playing the titular role of Gandhi. On the other hand, it will be his wife Bhamini Oza who will be seen in the role of Kasturba Gandhi. Besides them, the series will also see Harry Potter's Tom Felton (best known for his role of Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter series).
He will be seen playing the role of Josiah Oldfield, who happens to be Gandhi’s first and best friend. Readers may recall that, prior to this, Pratik Gandhi and Hansal Mehta had worked together in the thriller series Scam 1992. As for the series, while it has been bankrolled by Applause Entertainment in association with Applause Productions, Gandhi is being readied to be premiered on OTT platform.
Speaking about the OTT platform, Sameer Nair (CEO, Applause) told Variety website that, while the shooting of season one ‘Gandhi’ will be completed in July and will be ready to stream by early 2025 and that the (OTT) platform was yet to be decided.
