In order to celebrate the first birthday of their son, actress Gauahar Khan and her husband Zaid Darbar threw a mega bash yesterday. But, much to everybody’s disappointment, things just did not go the way it was planned to be. The reason? The civic authorities BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) landed up gate-crashing at the birthday party and destroyed a part of the décor.

As per a report in Free Press Journal, it has been said that actress Gauahar and her husband Zaid had organised a birthday party for their son when he turned one. The theme of the birthday party was that of a jungle. The birthday bash was being held at a posh hotel in Mumbai. Keeping in tune with the theme of the birthday party, there was a big forest themed gate, which was placed at the entrance of the hotel.

The invited guests were supposed to enter the venue through these big gates, which had been specially made for the birthday bash. Presumably after seeing the size of the gate, the BMC officials reportedly took an objection to the erection of the gate. The said officials reportedly demanded the said gate to be removed

As per the available video (which eventually surfaced on the internet), it was seen that the BMC officials arrived at the venue in a truck and started dismantling the jungle theme gate. Available reports also state that, the BMC officials had initially spoken to the hotel staff and the event organisers telling them to remove the big gate which had been set up on the footpath (which was outside the hotel).

And, when they refused to agree, the BMC officials then, landed up taking the matter in their own hands and eventually, started dismantling the gate and put all of that into their trust and moved away. What followed after that was a heated argument between the civic officials and the event organisers. Seeing all the commotion, birthday boy’s father Zaid came out of the party, and complied with the civic authorities and allowed them to take away the said décor, just to avoid any further hassles during his son’s first birthday.
