How did Sonali Bendre celebrate 25 years of Sarfarosh? Find out here...

It's been 25 years since Sonali Bendre and Aamir Khan's Sarfarosh was released in theatres. And Sonali is in a celebratory mood. The actress posted a video with a collection of clips of herself in director John Matthew Matthan's 1999 movie. With songs from the film as the background score of the video, the clips show the different moods of her character, Seema.

Sonali Bendre celebrates 25 of Sarfarosh 

Sonali captioned her Instagram video, which features different moods and emotions of her character, Seema, “25 years ago today…#AamirKhan #JohnMatthewMatthan #25YearsOfSarfarosh.”  

The video begins with a scene from the film in which Sonali says, “Tumhe pata hai jab dil ki dhadkan tez ho jati hai toh uska kya matlab hota hai (Do you know what it means when the heart starts beating fast?)” To this, Aamir replies, “Haan, high BP.” Later, the song Is Deewane Ladke Ko begins playing in the background and a bunch of clips from the song Hoshwalon Ko Khabar Kya start playing on screen. The clips feature different moods of Sonali’s character, Seema, from being irritated to getting teary-eyed. 

Sonali grooves to Jo Haal Dil Ka 

Later, the song Jo Haal Dil Ka is played in the video and Sonali sets temperatures soaring with her sensuous look from the song, in which she wore a red lehenga.

Sonali’s followers took notice of the video and commented on her beauty. Actress Divya Dutta and actor Sonu Sood also commented, with red heart emojis, while actress Shriya Pilgaonkar wrote, “Beyond gorgeous.” 

Helmed by John Matthew Matthan, Sarfarosh, starring Aamir Khan and Sonali Bendre, is based on the life of IPS Ajay Rathod. After Ajay attends a live concert by singer Gulfam Hassan, the story goes back to his college days and shows his love story with Seema. After the context of Ajay’s life is set, the film shows him trying to arrest a terrorist and, in turn, suffering through personal sacrifices. Whether Ajay is able to stop this terrorist forms the plot of the film.
