Rishab Shetty meets with Rajinikanth, sparking rumors that the superstar may be a part of the Kantar prequel

Writer and director of the blockbuster Kantara, Rishab Shetty recently met up with superstar Rajinikanth , which sparked rumors that that actor may be a part of the Kantara prequel.

Rajinikanth who praised Kantara via social media may have just met up eth the director to congratulate Rishab Shetty in person but the possibility of him joining the cast of the planned prequel is sure to excite fans.

Kantara was one of the breakout hits of 2022, having grossed a whopping 597 crores worldwide against a budget of 16 crores.

In a recent interview with Deadline, the producer confirmed that a prequel is in the works and Rishab Shetty has already started working on the script for the movie.

The movie went on become the second highest-grossing Kannada movie of all time behind KGF: Chapter 2.

The movie also received universal praise from critics and fans, with many hoping for a second installment in the franchise, so the news of a prequel has fans hyped.

Kantara is set in the 1990s and follows Kaadubettu, the son of a Bhoota Kola performer who refuses to take up his father's mantle after his father sacrifices himself to protect the village and the forest surrounding it.

Meanwhile Rajinikanth is busy with his upcming action flick Jailer. The movie will be the first time Rajinikanth will be working with Shivarajkumar, the movie also marks the actor's Tamil debut.

The movie has an ensemble cast that includes Shiva Rajkumar, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, Yogi Babu, and Vinayakan.

In Jailer Rajinikanth plays the role of a Muthuvel Pandian the warden of the notorious prison. However, the plot of the movie remains under wraps.
