This STAR will lead Nelson's debut film as a producer

Filmmaker Nelson is set to begin a new chapter in his career. He recently announced the launch of his own production house named Filament Pictures. And the first film to roll out from his banner will feature an up-and-coming actor, Kavin.

While an official announcement of the project will be made on Friday, industry sources have confirmed that Kavin will lead Nelson's maiden production venture.

According to sources, the production of the film has already been completed. Nelson's assistant director, Sivabalan, will make his directorial debut with this movie, which was shot in 46 days. The film will have a musical score from Jen Martin of DaDa fame.

"An announcement (tomorrow) straight from the heart. Deeply personal and close to my heart," Kavin tweeted on Thursday while teasing about his next project.

Kavin's Next Projects

Nelson and Kavin go way back, as they have known each other since their television days. Nelson was involved with several shows on Vijay Television, and Kavin was popular for playing a lead role in the serial Saravanan Meenatchi on the same channel.

Kavin's popularity shot up following his participation in Bigg Boss Tamil season 3. After coming out of the show, Kavin focused on building his career in movies. He caught a huge break following the success of Dada last year.

Kavin is now awaiting the release of STAR. Written and directed by Elan, the upcoming film has already generated a lot of goodwill, thanks to a highly engrossing trailer. The film is due to hit cinemas on May 10.

Kavin also has another film, which is getting ready to hit the screens. According to reports, the movie is touted to be a romantic comedy and is directed by Sathish. Composer Anirudh Ravichander has scored the music, and the film is likely to be released in cinemas during the Deepavali holiday. An official confirmation on the same is awaited.
