The Untitled Karthiik Krishnan Project is a strange movie. I cant say I hated it but I would be lying if I said it was fantastic. There are parts of it that work and there are parts that falter because they are too clever.

The movie is about a movie being made within the movie. Telling you anymore of the storyline means telling you the twist so I will not say anymore here. Besides, its too confusing to explain.

The movie uses some artistic devices to get its message across such as making most of the movie black and white and the rest in colour. Sound is very effectively used. I realized for the first time how noisy it must be to live close to the JJ flyover. The background music with the disjointed chords is also pretty good. The acting was quite impressive given that they all looked like novices to me.

This movie at one hour is quite short but I think it could have been shorter still. There are large parts where you wonder whats going on and when it will all end. That is too much existential angst to undergo in one hour for an average movie- goer looking for entertainment. The story had a lot of comic as well as dramatic potential, which was not fully exploited but a brave try nevertheless. Maybe the next movie by the Director will be better made and have enough self-respect to get itself a title.
