A majority of fans even felt that they were watching late Atal Bihari Vajpayee himself on screen and not Pankaj. That’s how well the actor immersed himself into the character. Apart from Tripathi, the film also stars Piyush Mishra as the late PM’s father Krishna Bihari Vajpayee, Payal Nair as Indira Gandhi, Raja Rameshkumar Sevak as L. K. Advani and Daya Shankar Pandey as Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya. Written by Rishi Virmanu, Main Atal Hoon has been directed by Ravi Jadhav.
