Bappi Da doesn’t find any sense in today’s lyrics

While at one point of time he was ruling the music industry with back to back musical hits and emerging as the disco king of India, composer and singer Bappi Lahiri finds modern songs nonsensical. According to him, the focus has completely shifted elsewhere while lyrics used to mean a lot earlier.

“There is no meaning of lyrics these days. It’s very disappointing. Listen to songs like ‘Chaar botal Vodka’. All these words are bizarre. One has to concentrate on the lyrics. Think about the old lyrics. People still remember those songs. There is no sense in today’s lyrics like it had in the golden era. Lyrics have double meaning but having said that the young generation likes it,” he said. Bappi Da despite spending over 4 decades in the industry hasn’t been in the hold of composition lately. However he did convey that he would like to continue working.
