Box Office: Tiger Shroff's Munna Michael Gives Tough Competition To Ekta Kapoor's Lipstick Under My Burkha On Day 1!

Though this week’s box office battle has not been as fierce as it is going to be next week, when five films are set to fight it out, it wasn’t all sorted for Munna Michael, the big Bollywood release, as the Tiger Shroff film was expected to face a stiff competition from the highly controversial and hyped up Lipstick Under My Burkha. But that hasn’t happened. However, nobody can rule out a neck to neck business for both the films after the first weekend.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted that the first day business figures of both the films and a closer look will reveal how tough it’s going to be for both the projects over the next two days.

While Tiger Shroff, Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starrer Munna Michael has earned Rs 6.65 cr on Friday, Lipstick Under My Burkha garnered Rs 1.22 cr on its opening day.

However, the big difference is in the numbers of screens they have got. Against Munna Michael’s 3,000 screens, Konkona Sen Sharma’s Lipstick Under My Burkha was released on only 400 screens. Now, when the reviews of both the films are out, the undecided potential viewers are likely to go in favour of Lipstick Under My Burkha, which is directed by Alankrita Srivastava.

If that happens then Lipstick Under My Burkha will be given more screens in the coming days and that can make it a winner after a couple of weeks.
