“Censor board’s views are completely stupid and ridiculous”, says John Abraham

The newly structured censor board has only been at the receiving end of criticism ever since it came into functioning. While the full fraternity of Bollywood has stood against the kind of view the board is trying to impose on filmmakers, the latest to join the bashing list is actor John Abraham.

At an event where John was asked about the recent shape ups taking place with the new censor board, the actor made it absolutely clear how disapproved he was of the board’s opinion. “I’m completely against what the censor board has said right now. I’m absolutely against it, it is stupid and ridiculous. I think the country that bans ‘India’s Daughter’ can ban anything right now.” John looked visibly annoyed with everything going around and made his views asserted.

“I do understand that in a country like India with such strong cultural values, there is a value of censorship we need to adhere by, I respect that. I mean you can’t stop calling Bombay ‘Bombay’ if you want to, you’re being plain stupid,” he added. Hoping that the scenario would change, John said that steps from the association of actors, producers are being taken in order to ‘correct’ all this.
