Chetan Bhagat to turn producer for Half Girlfriend

After 'Hello', '3 Idiots', 'Kai Po Che' and '2 States', Chetan Bhagat 's next book 'Half Girlfriend' is set to be adapted for the big screen. In fact, Chetan Bhagat’s previous book ‘Revolution 2020’ too is already in the process of being filmed. Even before the release of his next novel ‘Half-Girlfriend’, director Mohit Suri has come on panel to wheel the movie adaptation of the book. Bhagat announced the news on Twitter saying he is happy that the Aashiqui 2 director has involved himself with the project.  In fact, Chetan is also set to produce this project as he will be associating himself as a financer for the first time.

Chetan took to twitter this announcement and posted the news on twiiter."Delighted to announce super talented Mohit Suri will direct the film based on my next book Half-Girlfriend," he tweeted. Mohit, who recently helmed the super successful ‘Ek Villain’ is currently shooting for his next and will begin working on Half Girlfriend post that.

It is reported that Suri became emotional while reading the manuscript and was moved to tears at couple of places. In fact he was so moved by the appeal that he decided to co-produce the film along with Bhagat besides directing. "It's not a love story for perfect people, but it's about how normal people fall in love and how we hurt people whom we love the most. The story is so simple and yet I found myself crying in two places," said Suri.
