China release gets PK at top of highest overseas earners

Having conquered the Indian box office with flying colours earlier this year with thumping collections of 330 crores, Raju Hirani’s PK has now officially broken the overseas records too. The film was so far placed at the second spot next to Dhoom in the highest grossing films in overseas market.

When the film opened in Chinese market earlier this week, the results were unprecedented. Aamir, who is believed to be quite a popular figure in China again made wonders at the box office with PK. The film garnered around 3.3 million dollars in the opening weekend itself. With this the film has now registered around 170 crores in international market.

Directed by Raju Hirani, the Aamir Khan starrer has had its share of controversy and was a talking prospect in the early part of 2015. Looking at the numbers, the top three earners in overseas arena are all Aamir starrer. The films are PK, Dhoom 3 and 3 Idiots.
