Dadi And Gutthi Receive Legal Notice From Colors?

Comedy Nights With Kapil and controversy have become best friends now! While the die hard fans of Kapil Sharma's show haven't found a substitute to their favourite comedy show on TV, its actors are facing roadblocks in real life because of their reel life characters.

Ali Asgar aka Dadi has apparently been slammed with legal notice from the channel for performing as Dadi at a live event. According to a report published by Hindustan Times, Ali is not even allowed to wear his grey wig which is an essential part of his character as Dadi. 

He told HT, “My lawyer will reply to the notice, but as an artist I think that an actor does five to six memorable characters in his career and if he can’t repeat that because of a contract, then his career is gone. Imagine if Dilip Kumar sahab signed such a contract during Devdas, he wouldn’t have been able to hold a bottle of alcohol on screen after that!” 

Even Sunil Grover aka Gutthi has been facing similar issues and has allegedly received similar notice from the channel. He has clarified that he has committed to some live events for perfromances and he cannot step back. 

According to this report, the cast is not allowed to perform as their characters from CNWK anywhere now, since the show is over and the concept is owned by Colors. The channel has not given any official statement yet.
