On Wednesday a Delhi Court has taken back its order which restrained Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela from using its previous title Ram-Leela. The movie, starring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone is scheduled to release on November 15, Friday.

The court’s order, passed on Tuesday, has been recalled by Additional District Judge A.S. Jayachandra. He clarified that the restrain order was a mistake on the court’s part as he had no information that Delhi High Court has already ruled not to impose any ban on the movie’s release. Advocate Amit Sibal, counselling for Eros International Media Ltd., placed the high court order before the court and also demanded a compensation of Rs. 50,000 from an NGO which filed the application against the film. Sibal has also made the full title clear to the judge, Ram Leela: Goliyon Ki Rasleela.

The Delhi Court passed its order on Tuesday after hearing to a plea by six petitioners, including Prabhu Samaj Dharmik Ram Leela Committee, who claimed that the movie has hurt Hindu religious sentiments as it has sex, violence and vulgarity. The plea also complained that as the word “Ram Leela” is associated with Lord Rama and the audience must expect the film to focus on his life but the film will ultimately hurt their expectations as well as sentiments. The plaintiffs also claimed that the title should undergo a change as the movie is nowhere related to mythology and the title is totally misguiding the audience.
