Esha Gupta refuses to endorse a fairness cream

Anumber of actors have endorsed fairness-related products at some stage of their careers, but Esha Gupta is not inclined to join that list. The actor recently turned down a lucrative amount to endorse a fairness cream. A source close to her says that she believes in keeping things simple and natural when it comes to her skin, and that she is not in favour of using cosmetics that promise fair or glowing skin.

Esha confirms the story, and says, “I don’t know why we are so obsessed with the colour ‘white’, and why we give it so much importance. We can’t let a child grow up confidently if we discriminate against him or her on the basis of his or her skin colour.” The actor also warns against the unnecessary use of cosmetic treatments like Botox, adding, “I don’t have issues with Botox, and I might use it myself. But, if you have everything going for you, why do you need to get a makeover or an image that is unattainable?”
