Filmy Friday: New releases start slow, Dum Laga Ke Haisha may accelerate

Mumbai, Feb. 27 -- While no fireworks were expected out of the new releases making their way today, the opening report has not made any surprises. While Yashraj’s Dum Laga Ke Haisha found some takers at the ticket counters, Nana Patekar’s Ab Tak Chhappan 2 was strictly ignored.

Both films opened under the 20 % range but Dum Laga Ke Haisha did found some more viewers post evening shows. The reviews and word of mouth have been simply terrific for the Sharat Katariya directorial and the principal cast has been welcomed with excellent compliments. Weather this goes onto translate into some good figures would be something to look forward to. On the other hand, Nana Patekar’s Ab Tak Chhappan 2 has emerged as a disgrace to its brilliant prequel directed by Shimit Amin. There are less chances that the film will put something good at the box office. Let’s see what the opening figures suggest since tomorrow is an India match in the World Cup.
