“This Gabbar is a hero,” says Akshay

As the introductory trailer impresses viewers around big time, Akshay Kumar conveys to his fans that this Gabbar is not a villain, but a hero. At the trailer launch event of the film Akshay told the media about the character he plays, his preparation and much more.

On being asked if there are some inferences with the Sholay Gabbar here in this one, the actor said, “This Gabbar is different… that Gabbar was the villain and this Gabbar is the hero. This film has nothing to do with that film, this film is not ‘Sholay 2′. Both the characters are different.” Akshay is back in its steamy action avatar with this and told that he didn’t need to prepare anything special for this project and just followed the director.

“I don’t prepare for my character. I just follow my director’s vision because he knows the best as he knows the script very well. I follow the director. If I listen to too many people, and give him my vision, that will create confusion. I have always believed that a film is one person’s vision and not many people’s visions. I always believe in being a director’s actor”, he added. The film which also stars Shruti Haasan is scheduled to hit the screens on May 1.
