Haider surprises all, performs well overseas

Despite its restricted appeal, lesser popularity and confined accessibility, Vishal Bharadwaj’s Haider has performed unexpectedly well in the overseas market. The film that released two weeks back along with Bang Bang, was for obvious reasons not expected to live up to the build-up that Hrithik starrer had created.

The film after all its overseas box office run has been able to garner around an impressive 16 crores. The film has remained steady especially after the tremendous positive word of mouth it generated. Despite a heavyweight competitor like Bang Bang, Shahid Kapoor starrer was able to pull off a major chunk of audience in prime markets. While the controversy attached made a huge difference at the domestic market where it has already collected more than 55 crores, it hasn’t shown any functional variation in its overseas data. This has come as a good prospect for Shahid and Vishal both who were desperate for a successful outing. Bang Bang on the other hand continued to roar its way as it is now being now ranked amongst the highest grosser of all time in overseas.
