I Believe In Quality Over Quantity: Bhumi Pednekar

After making her debut with a leading role in the 2015 romantic comedy Dum Laga Ke Haisha, the actress took a break of almost a year to choose her next film. Her debut film fetched her Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut and now the actress is all prepped up for her upcoming flick Toilet: Ek Prem Katha alongside National Award-winning actor Akshay Kumar. The actress is taking baby-steps when it comes to choosing scripts.

While talking to IANS, the actress said that she believes in quality not quantity in films. She said, “I have always been picky about what I do because I believe in quality over quantity. Having said that, I think I was on a year-long sabbatical after Dum Laga Ke Haisha because I needed that time to sort of getting back to being Bhumi from Sandhya. I was fortunate enough to sign films in that span as well… except one hiccup that happened for me, my life has been pretty much been on track… My life 80 per cent has been on track. Unfortunately, I was shooting a film (Manmarziyaan) and that didn’t work out so, I lost out on three-four months over there. But apart from that, it is pretty much how I planned it”.

The actress has quite a few films lined up to be released in the year and next year. She will be next seen in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha which is slated for a release on August 2. Akshay Kumar met Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a part of the promotions. Modi called it a good effort to further the message of cleanliness.
