As per a DNA report, Mumbai police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has led an enquiry to investigate Wizcraft International Entertainment Pvt Ltd of its alleged involvement in Rs. 406 crore scam. As per the allegations made, Wizcraft took money from Qnet and used in the recent IFFA awards. It is further claimed that the “purpose of sponsoring IIFA awards is to further the Qnet scam in India and create an image that it is a respectable brand”.

The complaint has been filed by Gurpreet Singh Anand, who says that the money belonged to the victims of Qnet scam. Demanding the probe, he earlier said, “Why they (organisers) have appointed this company as sponsor”.  He also claims that the company has links in Bollywood and that should be investigated, as well.

“We have started an inquiry into the allegations but can't share details at this point of time”, said Dhananjay Kamlakar, the joint commissioner of police from EOW. Reportedly, 17 people have been arrested for fooling the investors by selling Qnet products through fraudulent means. A case has already been registered under Prize, Chits and Money Circulation Schemes (Banning) Act of 1978.
