Imran Khan: A hit or a flop does not affect the relationship

One of the emerging superstars of Bollywood, Imran Khan, was not well-accepted in his last release Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara and while talking about the same the actor said it was not at all a bad movie and the success rate of a movie doesn’t affect professional relationships.

Though Milan Luthria-directed OUATIMD had a star-cast featuring Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha and Imran Khan in lead roles, it failed to impress its audience. According to Imran, "The release was watched very badly, we released in 1,000 screens, obviously that was a problem. According to me the film wasn`t bad, I was very happy with my work but unfortunately few things are not in your hands. As an actor you can only concentrate on your work and performance, beyond that things are not in your control.” As his relation soured with Ekta Kapoor post OUATIMD’s release the whole film fraternity has been talking about the same. Imran said on the issue, "At this point, I don`t know. She has not called me since the release of the film. I didn`t feel the need to (take the initiative)."

Earlier Imran said he was never pleased with the promotions of OUATIMD and his relation with Ekta underwent such a bad phase that he even made an exit from the producer’s next project, Milan Talkies, to be directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia. As Imran told, "I opted out of `Milan Talkies` because of personal reasons. I am very happy with my decision, it allows me to sleep peacefully at night.” But some critics have also said that Imran was not the appropriate choice for a goon’s role. While speaking on that Imran said, "I don`t concern myself with the critical opinion at all. Personally, I felt that I got a very good response as an actor. At the box-office, obviously if you release with one quarter of the number of prints people will not see your film.” The actor added, "I am careful about whom I would work with. See, when I am working with Karan Johar, I know he is a very clean person. I know that I can put my trust in him blindly. It gives me a feeling of security and that is something I am very particular about. I want to work with good people.” Presently Imran is looking forward to his upcoming release Gori Tere Pyaar Mein which pairs him up with Kareena Kapoor and is slated to release on November 22.
