Irrfan Khan Dons Producer’s Hat

Like many of his contemporaries, Irrfan Khan, has also decided to venture into film production. The Jazbaa star has co-produced filmmaker Mira Nair’s nephew Ishaan Nair's directorial debut titled ‘Kaash’. Reportedly, Irrfan was quite impressed with the young lad and found him promising; hence made the decision to co-produce his film.

Mira Nair, Irrfan Khan, Sailesh Singh and Shimit Amin have come together for ‘Kaash’, which also stars Kalki Koechlin in a prominent role. It is said that The Lunchbox actor's wife Sutapa Sikdar is also linked with the project. Talking about the kinds of scripts he would produce, Irrfan said, “I am looking at producing films which will give audience something fresh. And also something that projects my vision of storytelling. I would like to produce or co-produce. As a co-producer I would like to handle the creative side of things and would want someone to handle the financial part of it as a partner”.

The Life of Pi actor added that he is quite keen about film production. He said, “I'm on lookout for more scripts which will be fresh in storytelling. Content is the king”.
