Is Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Munna Bhai 3’ On Cards?

‘Munna Bhai’ film series is one of the most acclaimed comedy drama series of all times. The 2003 film ‘Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.’ was the first flick made under this franchise, followed by ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’ in 2006. Everyone was expecting the third instalment of the series ever since 2006.

Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani commenced working on the script of ‘Munna Bhai Chale America’, the third instalment of the ‘Munna Bhai’ film series. Moreover, ‘Jolly LLB’ fame director Subhash Kapoor was supposed to helm the project. Before it could hit the floors, Sanjay Dutt, the male lead of the film series, was awarded the jail term and subsequently, the film was shelved.

Hirani, who is currently working on Dutt’s biopic with actor Ranbir Kapoor, has divulged information about 'Munna Bhai 3'. He revealed to Mumbai Mirror that he has five half written scripts with him. Talking about ‘Munna Bhai Chale America’, he says, “We started on it immediately after finishing Lage Raho Munna Bhai. We even shot a trailer. It was a funny script but the second half didn’t work out. I will surely make one more Munna Bhai.”

Hopefully fans of Sanjay Dutt will get to see his comic avatar really soon.
