Shah Rukh Khan And Anushka Sharma's Jab Harry Met Sejal Fails To Hit Half Century Over The Weekend!
The business figures for Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma-starrer Jab Harry Met Sejal saw a slight jump on Sunday, making a total of Rs 45.75 over the weekend. However, this doesn’t look sufficient to make the film sail through tough times.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the figures on Twitter and wrote, “#JabHarryMetSejal Fri 15.25 cr, Sat 15 cr, Sun 15.50 cr. Total: ₹ 45.75 cr. India biz... #JHMS. #JabHarryMetSejal has emerged a DISAPPOINTMENT... Barring few metros, the biz ranged from ordinary to dull... Jump in biz was missing. #JHMS.”
The Imtiaz Ali film hit theatres on Friday across more than 3200 screens. Made at an estimated budget of Rs 90 crore, the film must cross Rs 150 crore to be declared a hit. The movie has already earned Rs 25 crore from satellite and distribution rights.
The figures for box office will be considered dismal as the comparison is any other SRK film. Despite a major clash with Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil earlier this year, Raees collected Rs 59.83 crore in its first three days. Even an officially flop film - Fan raked in Rs 52.35 crore in first three days of the release. Earlier, Dilwale performed comparatively better with Rs 64.09 crore as the opening weekend collection despite a clash with Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh-starrer Bajirao Mastani.
At Rs 15.25 rore, Jab Harry Met Sejal became the lowest opening SRK film in last few years. The opening numbers for previous SRK films stand at Rs 19.20 crore (Fan, 2016), Rs 21 crore (Dilwale, 2015) and Rs 44.97 crore (Happy New Year, 2014).
Jab Harry Met Sejal was widely panned by critics.
Shah Rukh Khan plays a tour guide while Anushka is one of his clients in Jab Harry Met Sejal. The film traces the story of Sejal (Anushka) who misplaces her engagement ring and tours across Europe to find it, with some help from her tour guide.
