Jacqueline replaces Kareena in Azharuddin biopic

Jacqueline Fernandez’s inclusion in the Azharuddin biopic has been confirmed as she comes on to play the crucial role of actress and cricketer’s ex-wife Sangeeta Bijlani. While Kareena Kapoor was earlier in talks to play the role, she has chosen Abhishek Chaubey’s Udta Punjab over the biopic.

The film stars Emraan Hashmi as the ex Indian skipper while Jacqueline will now come in as the female lead. The on screen pair might as well be a story to be showcased since the Azhar and Sangeeta ended their 14 year long marriage in 2010. The project has been in talks for a long time now. While it was Kunal Deshmukh earlier in place of Anthony D’Souza to helm the project, Emraan’s preparations were also made the talking element. The project is almost underway and may release by the end of year.
