Is Junior B playing a rallying patron for sports in India?

There’s so much to be credited to Abhishek Bachchan for all what he’s in process of doing for sports in the country. In a nation that is clinically obsessed with a single sport like cricket, there goes much more than just a humble contribution to make a difference. If the accounts of last few years are to be taken under consideration cinematically, what has in literal sense contributed to something like sports? Nothing really.

But here comes a difference. Even before his team Jaipur Pink Panthers won the title in the Pro Kabaddi league, Abhishek had bought a share in the Chennai team for football league starting in India. The actor didn’t lose out on an opportunity to buy a football team which in all ways is a step welcome. They say cinema and sports have a lot to contribute to each other. These are the two religions Indians follow with absolute zeal and perseverance, so why not make the best of its strength and appeal. What Abhishek has been doing only firms the fact that sports other cricket are not to be over looked. The actor has made a fine statement and has stood up to his surname ‘Bachchan’. The conducive efforts of the actor haven’t impeded just there, the actor is also in talks of acting in a film based on Kabaddi. It was reported a few backs he wanted a full proof script with no loop holes and was keen on starting the project. The intent has been very positive and indicative that the contribution will help garnish the sport in longer run.

With IPL bringing the glamour world and cricket on the same page, it was important we didn’t forget the wider message. Cinema can make a healthy contribution to sports and it should be pushed to limits. The recent success of the Pro Kabaddi league and Hockey India league before that, has given out a strong message if only we’re able to read it. The clear message states that Indians have not turned their back on sports other than cricket. You promise them entertainment, you give them an opening, you provide them an environment and they’ll welcome the game with arms wide open. This would take a little contribution from the people we know, people we see on screen and of course the administration to provide the better facilities. In a country with more than a billion people struggling to make a living, there’s no reason we can’t make a desi Ronaldo, Bolt or a Federer. Well done AB, keep going!!
