Kangana Ranaut Wants to Co-direct Rangoon; Makers Might Replace Her

After proving her mettle as an actor, Kangana Ranaut is trying to diversify her skills. She has written dialogues for Queen, and has turned cinematographer for 7 minutes of upcoming flick Katti Batti. Now, the Tanu Weds Manu actress wants to co-direct her next project, Rangoon. Reportedly, the makers of the flick are trying to convince the Gangster actress and if things don’t work out, they might even replace the Revolver Rani actress.

DNA quoted a source as saying, “Kangana has told them she wanted to be billed as co-director of the film. This would be a first in Bollywood if the makers agree to her demand. Never before has the leading lady of a film wanted to share credit with the director. And that too, someone established and respected like Vishal”.

The source further revealed, “I don’t see Vishal agreeing to this. The makers are talking to her and trying to make her see sense”. The Sajid Nadiadwala production film, which is helmed by Vishal Bhardwaj, also stars Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles. The romantic-musical film is slated to release next year.
