Naseeruddin Shah To Play Rabindranath Tagore?

Pablo Cesar, the  internationally acclaimed Argentinean filmmaker is all set to make a historical drama film based on the life of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore and he wants to rope in Naseerunddin Shah to play the lead role. Cesar, who is an ardent admirer of Tagore, says that he is quite impressed with the 66-year-old actor’s skills and nobody can portray the role better than him. Cesar’s directorial, titled ‘Thinking of Him’ will go on floors in February 2016.

Cesar told Mumbai Mirror, “The film is set in 1924when Tagore is 63 and will be shot in Shanti Niketan and Argentina next summer. The scenes showing the present will be filmed in color and the flashback portions in blackand-white”. The story of the film will also explore Tagore’s relationship with Victoria Ocampa.

According to Cesar only Naseeruddin Shah can fit into the role of the Nobel laureate. “I am a Naseeruddin Shah fan and have watched Nishant, Manthan, Bhumika, Junoon and Sparsh many times. He inspires me”, said the filmmaker. It is said that Cesar will soon be flying to Mumbai to meet Naseer and lock the lead cast for the flick.
