Nawazuddin Siddiqui opines: I am not against all commercial films, I am against illogical films

Being rated as one of the most talented character actors in Indian cinema, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has said that he has no issues in doing commercial movies which he hasn’t done so far in his illustrious career. The actor said, “I am not against all commercial films, I am against illogical films. All commercial films are not illogical. Like '3 Idiots' was a commercial film and had a very good story.”

Nawazuddin is best known for his performance in films; Gangs of Wasseypur - Part 1, Gangs of Wasseypur - Part 2, Aatma and many more. The 39-year-old star will next be seen in Kick, which will be out-and-out a commercial film. He quoted, “It is not that I will do a blink-and-you-miss-it role in a big commercial film of A-list actors. The story (of 'Kick') is good, hence I agreed to do it. The story is superb. The script inspired me to do the film.”

On being asked about what inspires him to give a nod for a role, Nawazuddin said, “I try to balance things this way. For me the character and story inspire me to do a film. If I connect with it then I do it, that is my criteria to do a film. I don't think about the result of the film and the length of the role.” Conjectures have also been made about his villainous role in Kick but the actor preferred to stay mum on it and didn’t reveal anything.
