No Woman Has Ever Looked As Beautiful As Deepika: Bhansali

Deepika’s latest release Bajirao Mastani has garnered a lot of appreciation for her role as Mastani in the film. When the actress does not have her feet on the ground, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali also has something to add in honour of the actress. The movie’s director says the leading lady of his recent released has never exaggerated a role in movies.

Bhansali said the character of a warrior queen Mastani played by Deepika Padukone  is dear to him. He told IANS, “Mastani is someone what Madhubala and Meena Kumari did in their heydays. Deepika has never ever gone over the top. No woman has ever looked so beautiful on the Indian screen in the longest time. It's a dear character to me”.

The Ramleela director which also starred Deepika added, “deep down my favourite character is Mastani. I would take Deepika's performance till the last breath of my life. It's that dear to me”. The movie is going pretty well at the box-office, when asked the film’s director about it, Bhansali said, “I just wanted to make a beautiful film, be honest and truthful towards something which I have lived for 12 years”. He adds, “It was my tribute to Mughal-e-Azam and that was all I was thinking of while making this film. I was not thinking of the box-office collection...I am offering something that is different”.
