Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati is grabbing eyeballs from some time now. It has been finalised that actors Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh will play warrior kings, while Deepika Padukone is all set to embrace her royal look again after Baajirao Mastani, and will play queen Padmini in her next. Recently, the actress opened up about her character in the master-piece by the Devdas director.

Talking about it, she said, "It’s not a conscious decision. Those are the kind of roles that have been coming my way. You can call it my instincts or the timing, but that’s what I’m also attracted to. It landed in my lap, and I think certain films are destined to have you in them. Either way, destiny plays a major role, as certain films aren’t meant for you".

The actress feels lucky to play the larger than life character. Detailing about her character in the film, the Piku actress said, "There are so many times when you want to do a particular film and you try everything under the sun to make it work, but it doesn’t. Padmini is someone who is worshiped by so many people. (The film) is something that I am extremely proud of, and I feel very lucky that something like this came my way. It’s going to be a very tough six months".

Earlier there were rumours of Shahid and Ranveer having a tiff over who’s having a meatier role in the flick. However, Shasha dismissed it. This is the third time that Bhansali and Deepika are working together after Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela and Bajirao Mastani. The flick will hit the theatres on November 17, 2017.
