Ranveer Singh To Be Trained By Kapil Dev For 1983

Latest news reveals that Ranveer Singh will be trained by former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev and members of the 1983 World Cup winning squad for his upcoming film '1983'. This has been revealed by the movie’s director Kabir Khan. Ranveer will be depicting the character of Kapil Dev in the flick.

The actor will be taught nitty-gritty of the popular game and the entire team of the film will undergo some prep work, where they all will be trained for (playing) cricket, as revealed by the director himself. In 1983’s World Cup in England Kapil under the captaincy of Dev India won the game. And Ranveer Singh will have to portray the same.

The director further said, “Members of the 1983 World Cup squad will be helping us, they will be there as consultants and coaches for the team. It will begin next year”. Kabir is confident about Ranveer's acting and said that he admires him as an actor as he has a great sense of enthusiasm and energy. The film is about the 1983 World Cup victory.
