Mumbai -- Actor Ranvir Shorey has revealed that he had to put on 20 kilos for his role in Rajat Kapoor's upcoming film Fatso. "For Fatso I had to gain 15-20 kilos. Initially it was needed to gain the weight as we couldn't afford prosthetics and make up around chin, neck and arms. I did wear a fat suit for the body but the face too needed to look proportionate, the 39-year-old said. "Although it was a health risk, I went ahead. In fact, I've even got high blood pressure due to the weight I put on suddenly. If it hadn't been Rajat Kapoor's film, maybe I wouldn't have done it. It's my third film with Rajat and that's why I have implicit faith in him," he added. Shorey also said that gaining weight wasnt tough, but shedding the extra pounds was really hard. "Gaining weight wasn't tough, losing it was for which I have worked really hard. For almost a year I practiced Kalaripayattu (a martial art form that was born in Kerala) to shed the flab," he added. The film, also stars Gul Panag, Purab Kohli, Neil Bhoopalam and Gunjan Bakshi in lead roles and is slated to hit theaters on May 4.
