Rowdy Rathore’s rowdier sequel is in pipeline

Action thriller Rowdy Rathore directed by Prabhu Deva may hit the screens again with its sequel. Rowdy Rathore was a remake of Telugu film Vikramarkudu directed by S.S. Rajamouli. The movie starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles released in 2012 and received good response at the box office. Co-produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Shabina Khan, the movie emerged to be one of the biggest grosser in Mumbai. The duo will once again team up to produce the second instalment of the franchise.

A source close to the unit said, "Bhansali will put Bajirao Mastani on floors in October and Rowdy Rathore 2 will roll by the mid of next year. The sequel was in the pipeline ever since the film entered the Rs 100 crore club." When contacted, co-producer Shabina Khan confirmed the news saying "Yes, we are making Rowdy Rathore 2. We are in the process of locking the script." We definitely expect a rowdier Rothore this time!
