    Salman Khan found guilty in hit-and-run case


    A sessions court has found Bollywood actor Salman Khan guilty of killing a man in a 2002 hit-and-run case. The man was among five people who were run over in the incident. The court held that Salman Khan was driving while drunk and he did not have his driving licence then with him.


    Judge D.W. Deshpande convicted the 49-year-old actor of culpable homicide for running his SUV while drunk over a group of homeless men sleeping on the pavement and then fleeing the scene. The judge also said, “It is not probable that Salman's driver Ashok Singh was driving the car. All charges against you are proven. Court has come to conclusion that you were driving the car under the influence of alcohol”, he added. The sentence against the actor is still to be announced, he might face upto 10 years of imprisonment.


    The actor has denied all the charges and claimed against him driving the car. The muscular actor is no stranger to controversies off screen. The Dabangg actor is also facing two other trials in Rajasthan for allegedly poaching endangered animals and possessing arms without a valid licence. In 1998, he spent more than a week in prison for allegedly killing blackbucks.
