Padmavati To Finish Shooting By October 20th

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus ‘Padmavati’ has been in the news for quite a long time for some reason or the other. Earlier, the movie was in news because of its casting and delay in shooting. Soon after, it made headlines that protestors vandalised the film’s sets in Kolhapur.

The shooting of the movie which stars Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh in the lead roles is going on in full swing. Deepika plays the titular character of Rani Padmini, while Shahid will be playing her husband Raja Rawal Ratan Singh. Ranveer Singh will essay the role of Raja Rawal Ratan Singh. Apart from the above actors, the movie will also feature actress Aditi Rao Hydari as Ranveer’s wife.

Now in order to ensure that the film releases on its original date which is November 17, 2017, Sanjay is making sure that the team wraps up the shooting by October 20. "Padmavati was delayed due to the protests by certain groups, but now shooting is progressing at a brisk pace. SLB wants to meet the release date — November 17. Deepika, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor will be shooting till October 20 to wrap the film,” revealed a source close to the team.
