The Queen director, Vikas Bahl, is pleased with the acceptance of short film format in theatres. His upcoming project, Chaar Cutting is a compilation of four short hand-picked films. He expressed, “Short films are a stepping stone for any filmmaker in his or her journey. It’s great to see that some of them are reaching theatres, so that audiences can watch them. I hope Chaar Cutting does well to open the category”.

The flick displays a range of human emotions and variety of genres. It is comprised of Skin Deep (written by Vikramaditya Motwane and directed by his assistant Hardik Mehta), Blouse (directed by Vijayeta Kumar), Manila Running (directed by Anuj Gulati), and Bawdi (directed by Vivek Soni). Bahl said, “While Skin Deep is a complex story about a couple, Blouse is a simple tale of getting a gift for the spouse. I am sure the audiences will like them too”.

The flick is slated to release on May 29 in Mumbai, Pune, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Ahemdabad through PVR Director’s Rare. It is the first feature film of Jamuura, in association with Celebstall. Munish Tewari, founder of Jamuura said, “Short films are not widely considered as an option for entertainment yet. However, we believe that this is an extremely potent medium to bring out the many brilliant stories, which don’t require substantial resources and 150 minutes to be effectively created and consumed”.
