"What do we do with the beti bachao campaign?" Divyanka Tweets To PM
Indian television actress Divyanka Tripathi is known to have portrayed roles in many serials of the Indian television. The actress is popularly known as Ishita from the Indian television serial ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbbatein’. Recently, the Banoo Main Teri Dulhann star broke her silence over a gruesome tragedy which took place at her hometown Chandigarh.
A twelve-year-old girl was raped in Chandigarh after celebrating Independence Day at her school, while on her way back home. Divyanka took to her Twitter handle in order to question the Prime Minister Narendra Modi about his ideology of Beti Bachao campaign. The actress’s tweet read as, “What do we do with the beti bachao campaign?! Just save the girl. I don't want to have a son, but now I fear of having a daughter. What will I tell her, why did I get her to hell from heaven”.
Her tweet further read, “Why don't we give gruesome punishments for gruesome crimes? Yet another rape! What independence are we talking about? Women must stop voting for any party as they are so unimportant for this nation! It's a 'No Woman's Land' or a #RapistsParadise we live in”. Tripathi’s ended her tweet terming the country as 'No Woman's Land' and a ‘#RapistsParadise’ and stating that India’s women must stop voting for any party as they are unimportant for the nation.
