Yeh hai Bakrapur sequel in pipeline

An upcoming film by filmmaker Janaki Vishwanathan Yeh hai Bakrapur hasn’t even released yet and the makers have started planning for its sequel. The reports have surfaced that the helmer has acquired the rights of a novel The Goat, the Sofa and Mr. Swami by writer R. Chandrasekar and it will be adapted in the follow-on of Yeh hai Bakrapur.

The director talked about his thought of putting it forward, "I read the book while making Yeh Hai Bakrapur. During the filming, it struck me that it would make for a great second film. I met the author, he saw my film and we were on board!" Meanwhile, the lead actor of the prequel Anshuman Jha confirmed that he is roped in for the same, "I have signed a three-film deal with the producer Ramesh Aruunachalam. Yeh Hai Bakrapur is already wrapped up and we will be starting work on the book adaptation on May 9th. The third film that I have signed is called Mona Darling, which will see him paired with Nushrath Bharucha, my co-star in Dibakar Banerjee's Love, Sex aur Dhoka." The first instalment casts Asif Basra, Yoshika Verma, Amit Sia and few others in important roles. It will hit theatres on May 9.
