Actor Andrew Lincoln, who plays Sheriff Deputy turned zombie slayer Rick Grimes on AMC's long running hit series ‘The Walking Dead', has expressed his desire of working in the sci-fi franchise 'Star Wars'. The 44-year-old said that he would have worked in the film if he was not starring in the show. He wants to be a Jedi Knight in the Star Wars movie.

Recently, in an interview on Talking Dead, Lincoln said he and his co-star Dave Morrissey, who played lead antagonist the governor in seasons 3 and 4, were shocked that they never got an opportunity to play Harry Potter as Britishers. However, he said that they hope that they would get a chance to feature in 'Star Wars' in the future.  "Dave Morrissey and I... we used to sort of joke that we were the only actors in British Equity that hadn't been in the 'Harry Potter' franchise, so maybe I would have been wizarding about Hogwarts or hobbit-ing about Middle Earth. And I always fancied the idea of getting my hands around a light-saber," said Lincoln.

He added, “And I always fancied the idea of getting my hands around a lightsaber.” ‘The Walking Dead' is returning with its eighth season and the show’s creator Robert Kirkman has said that Andrew’s character Rick will die at the end of the show. “I’ve said before, Rick does not survive to the end. It was years ago so you guys probably forgot, but I foresee there being more story after his eventual demise,” Robert said.
